Firefighters rescued three people and a dog after a recreational dingy partially submerged about 100 yards off the Hilo Bayfront Saturday afternoon.
Eight units responded to the 12:51 p.m. alarm with the first unit arriving five minutes later, according to the Hawaii Fire Department.
The occupants of the boat were reportedly already in the water, while the dog remained in boat. An off-duty lifeguard reportedly used a personal watercraft to rescue the victims and take them to a rescue boat. They were taken to Wailoa Small Boat Harbor for medical evaluation. No injuries were reported.
The disabled dingy was towed ashore, according to the statement.
